I have made a number of baroque and “transitional,” or classical instruments. I built a transitional violin and cello for the Melius trio, set up as they would be in the early 19th century, which the trio, use when they play with the piano-forte. Hearing the same sound that Schubert and Beethoven heard when composing is a very enjoyable and rewarding experience.
